TV Channel Nepal 1 Information
NEPAL 1 is the first Nepali language Satellite Channel being beamed from India. The transponder is on Thaicom’s Asia beam. It is primarily targeted towards the cable homes of the Nepalese community in North Bengal, Sikkim and North Eastern States in India, the whole of Nepal, Burma, and Malaysia, right up to Hong Kong. There are approx. four lakh cable homes in Nepal, out of a total seven-lakh TV homes. NEPAL1 is positioned as an infotainment Channel.
The existing Nepali media has been unable to take advantage of the diverse Nepali diasporas, as they have largely focussed in the primary markets only. NEPAL 1 fills this void successfully by developing a platform that is easily identifiable everywhere. The programming which constitutes 90% Nepali and the rest in Hindi is packaged in such a way that NEPAL 1 is poised to become the only medium that covers the whole “Nepali World” on one platform.
